Default boost controller NOT CONTROLLING BOOST!

I just got my car back and it scares me to death.

I have an AVC-R and it was set to .25 bar, mainly because our raidiator was leaking and we didn't want to mess anything up. My brother was driving and I told him to gun it for a sec just to see that everything was ok. When we gunned it, I watched the boost jump quickly to over .80 bar! I almost crapped in my pants thinking everything was just going to blow up again, but it didn't. YAY. Its going back to the shop today to get a couple more things fixed, but I wanted to know what the problem was before 7 pm tonight. Any takers on this one?

By the way, boost makes this car fly! I have an automatic and the wheels were burning out by the time I was half way into the intersection. I don't know if the trade off is worth it though - A HELLA LOT OF MONEY for parts and now my fuel economy is worse than a Land Cruiser.

Sounds like you need to find an experienced tuner.

What is your wastegate spring set at? 0.25bar is 3.6-3.7psi...
boost controllers can't lower boost below wastegate settings...they can only raise it.

Thanks, that makes sense.

I think there is a seven LB spring in there.
