Boost Civic SI problems.
A freind of mine took his 2000 Si to the Dyno a couple of weeks ago and hit 265 WHP at 13 PSI. Now, I have done nothing to the block, all the internals are stock. After this he was told by the guy at the dyno to get a 3" exhaust because i had the Greddy Evo which it was 2 1/4". He bought the universal Apexi N1 and after he did that his car doesnt want to work properly. He can drive the car but if he stop the car it wont stay at idle, it'll just shut off, also the battery is being drained. He was told by one mechanic that this is happening because the exhaust is to big and he also says that you can't use a V-AFC on a turbo v-tech engine with a map sensor bypass (which I think is horse poop) Hes driving down to Orlando to see if his buddy who dynoed his car can tell him what;s wrong with it. If this has happened to any of you guys or have any suggestions, I would like to know.

As you put it, I think that is horse poop.
Sounds like classic bad alternator to me, nothing being recharged to the battery. Has nothing at all to do with the exhaust. Some auto parts stores will test your alternator for you for free, and if it is failing to restore charge its a fairly painless fix.

ooops about the vtec. That is what i was telling it has to be the altenator. Cause I dont know what could possible keep draining the battery even after it was, jump several times, and even recharged. A update to this post, since posting, we set the VAFC to all zero values, to basicaly turn it off. The car started but still died out. This being the greddy kit, he isnt using the blue box, but using a Jackson racing FMU, greddy injectors, and the 255lph high pressure pump.

I have a '99 Si and had similar problems. After doing some wiring one day I drove home and noticed all my electronics began to dim, then motor just died while the car still rolling. I figured the battery went dead and recharged it. Same thing. I checked the altenator and found it was not keeping a charge so I changed it. Still problems. So I took my original altenator to an altenator shop and it read 14.2 volts which was excellent. I was like "what the ****". Come to find out it was my altenator fuse. STUPID me I did not take into consideration that even though the altenator runs off a pully, it uses a fuse to keep the charge. Yes I am a MORON! Although check your fuse, and if that's not the problem then take your altenator to an altenator shop. In Houston O'Rielly and Autozone do not have the pugs that can check our altenator, it might be different where ever your at. If it turns out to be the altenator then hit me up because I have a spare sitting looking for a home.
Good luck, David!
