Hey guys, im a local female racer and im new to forced induction. I have a 2000 civic si turbo, with the following mods, how many pounds will the stock internals handle??? i have it on the stock wastegate settings of 7.8 psi now without it being tuned. It drives nice now but i expected more for $6000 dollars i spent, when i went to Gainesville Speedway it ran a......

1/8........10.509
mph.......77.96
1000.......13.193
1/4.........15.412
MPH........101.83
I know my 60ft are SORRY! so u dont have to critisize me on it, but it was untuned and my last run before i found out my motor mounts were all damaged! N/A i ran a 15.5@86????? on the street it pulls so much harder now than N/A. i want to turn up the boost or something but i dont know, maybe you guys can help me out with some helpful advice. with my list of mods what can kinda boost and 1/4 mile times should i expect?

well first off, u kinda need to improve on your driving skills before turning up the boost. im guessing your having traction problems? get better tires and learn how to launch. as far as your engine mods, it looks impressive. but i would suggest maybe a good fuel management system like hondata. or you can do the afc hack(tons of info in the archives). to get the most power, tuning is the key... hope this helps a litlle...good luck and much props on being a female racer. have any pics of the car?

First off replace those motor mounts, and I suggest hooking up that boost controller. Letting the wastegate control boost sucks. Boost will come on quicker and feel stronger with a boost controller installed.
Secondly, tune it! Asking if you should turn up the boost should come later on down the road. It's not like more boost = better times. Boost can't make up for inexperience at the track. Go practice getting those 60ft's down with a tuned kit, you will be much happier with your car and youself. After that, boost the bitch!

looks like to me youve got a nice low 13 sec setup and wouldnt worry about 'how much boost' at this point..just put it on some slick and get that driving techniqe down pat..and move on from there.. other than that nice ride

ask them or better yet tell them you want to push your car and what would be safe to run psi wise then tune it

Re: how much boost??? 2000 civic si (fourdoorsleeper)
Your mph should put you in the mid to low 13 range....you just need to learn how to properly launch. Im runnin 10 psi with my vortech kit in my 99 si on stock internals. I also have traction bars and a quaffe, and still have all kinds of traction problems. you just have to learn how to slip the clutch and feather the gas.
I would recomend going ahead and upping the boost to 9 or 10. then get good tires and learn how to drive.
good luck

with those 310 injectors, you wont be able to boost that much. Get Hondata with 450's or uberdata, even the vafc hack is better than the sorry greddy fuel management.

Maybe i'm missing something but i don't see anything listed for tuning.
310's and a v-afc? are you adding 50% full once in boost????
First off Get something to actually tune the car with like hondata or even a fmu. (maybe your using the blue box????)
Anyways get it tuned.........................................
Then work on your driving skill...............................
then worry about making more power.........
Tuned @ 7psi you should be making about 220whp good enough to get you high 13's once you get your launch down and get your tires to hook up.
Like it was said before, more boost isn't a replacement for lack of experience...

Re: how much boost??? 2000 civic si (importeclipsegst)
your turbo is very capable as you see i'm also running it - tuning goes along ways as does practicing your launch - i wouldn't worry just yet about turning your boost up, it's not the issue. try to get your 60 times down to around 2.2-2.3 and schedule some dyno sessions
