Blown B16, for real
So my motor f'd up on me. It's kinda sad I just bought precision 1000cc injectors and waiting to get it tuned. Cylinder 2 detonated right around 7k. I was running used DSM 450's and never had them flow tested, which I should have. But anywho it lean'd out and detonated hella bad. The spark plug tip must have broke off and then vaporized while bending one of my intake valves which then looks like it kissed my piston and punched a whole in it. Poor roller wave, suprisingly nothing happed to the cylinder wall, no cracks or scratches. Still have to check out my crank and rod as well as the rest of my valve train.
So is the head worth fixing or just say F it and buy a new head.

Re: Blown B16, for real (Synapse Motorsport)
that's what i figured too, I suppose the man hours used to reshape the combustion chamber is gonna cost a **** load. So if anyone has a bare b16 or b18c head for sale hit me up. I was running really rich but as you can see cylinder 2 doesn't look like it wasn't getting much fuel at all.
