Default block questions....??????.......????????..

ok... after numerous decicsion and ideas i feel boost is what its gonna be. car is a 1990 ef hatch with a gsr motor. im aiming for a STRONG 400whp motor. the head has all itr internals. as far as the block goes..... i will put pistons and rods.....but i just dont know what combo to use. but my question is....

... what do i do for block safety? the will probably be driven maybe once a week. so i dont feel sleeving it will be "cost effective". block guard? devcon? maybe? nothing? i dont know what to do.

ive heard bad things about devon but most of the horror stories are from cars that are being daily driven. then i have a buddy who is making 500+ whp daily on a nuformz block guard.... what should i do?

Nope.

Get it tuned right and you'll be set.

Wiseco pistons for sure, and depends on how much you want to spend on rods, and how high you want to rev. 8500 and less, Eagles should be fine.. anything higher look into the Manley TurboTuff rods.

Don't bother installing a blockguard or anything plenty of cars have dynoed over 500whp without it on a good piston and rod combination..

You can't go wrong with cp, je, wiseco, aries pistons and eagle, manley, pauter rods...

I would do wiseco and eagle for your application.

it will last a long time if its tuned well, the sleeves in the gsr motor can hold 500+whp so i think you'd be fine
