Default Honing Question

I just recieved my 1.8 84.5mm Dart block today. I was reading that it hasn't been honed, and must be prior to installation. How much does honing usually take out of the block? Reason I ask, will I still be able to use 84.5mm pistons? Or will honing take the block past that?

A standard hone will usually create .0001 to .001" more bore. Justs depends on the machiner and how much you want to take out.

If you measure the cylinder bores, it's not bored out to 84.5mm from Dart, it's slightly less so you can take it to a machine shop for a final bore and hone, ensuring you get the correct clearance with your pistons. I have a NIB Tall deck Dart block and it was bored ~83.8mm when i got it, now i wait on my CP pistons to arrive before i get it bored to 85mm and honed( it's for a NA build). It also looks like it should be decked a few 0.001"
