overheating depends on the block guard. srp is supposed to have a good one. i was gonna do the posting with my block. saw some pics of it done from endyn and it looked just like rods they inserted and jb welded it. posing secures more of the cylinder and allows greater cooling flow than the guard.
A properly installed blockguard (hammering it in doesn't count) with adequate cooling passages will work well.
Posting the block uses studs that support the sleeves at 3 different locations.

is getting the block posted something that most shops can do? or is it something that is mainly done with honda's only? can i do it myself? i have access to a machine shop.
You can do it yourself if you have a machine shop. You need an accurate way of measuring and drilling the holes for the posts.

do you round the posts to match the cylinder or do you cut them straight off and slide them tight against the cylinder wall?
I think Zdyne does it for around $300. I think that's what they did for that 27 psi daily d supercharged civic hatch that was in Hot Rod....
does anybody have the link for the pictures of the block posting on http://www.theoldone.com? I searched through the site today and couldn't find them.

Endyn charges $400 to do the posting. That's the price Larry gave me over the phone. He encouraged me to do it myself and save a lot of money. He gave me all of the info about how to do it.
The local machine shop is drilling/tapping the holes in the block. A friend of mine is making the posts and I'll be installing/sealing them. The cost of doing it this way is $100.

Are you sure you don't have ENDYN and ZDYNE mixed up? ZDYNE makes standalone engine management systems. I don't think they post blocks, but who knows...

sonny, could you please email me the directions for posting it yourself instead of sending it out? i'm pretty sure i understand it now. not 100% on the exact shape of the 3/8" posts. but i do understand that they are still cut straight and not shaped to the cylinder walls....thanks for all your help. Paul
Sonny, are you going to shift the yellow ones up so they are above the stiffening web?
