They work well, and sound like the compression brakes off a bus or truck. not much else to say...

I rike it arot!

You have to drive really slow if cops are around. Its just plain LOUD. Yes, it sounds like semi brakes.

Its the first and only bov I've ever had. It takes alot of turbulent air to make that noise so I dunno how effective it is at higher boost. I was thinking of putting a greddy bov on too. that way I can switch bovs depending how i feel.

Ok I could be totally wrong here, but Greddy is used on a street legal kit correct? The Blitz to the best of my knowledge, doesnt come on a street legal kit. So I would think it is doing something good for your car, atleast not anything bad, since alot of products that are not street legal help your car out. My friend has oneon his Supra and he loves it, no problems whatsoever. I would think that the Greddy and Blitz would do fine if you plan on running the car on the street. Once you want to crank the boost for the track you will want another valve anyways.

They do not swap out. You need a new flange. I got mine today and it doesnt fit.

the greddy kit doesnt come with a BOV and is no longer street legal if one is added.

What are you talking about? Why would it not come with a BOV?
All turbos must have a BOV.

Not all turbos must have a bov. They can have a bypass valve cant they. VW's dont have bov's if I am not mistaken. I think that many drag cars run without one as well.

Like SlowB16 said a turbo doesn't *really* need a BOV/Bypass Valve. without one it'll just get compressor surge, which wont "blow" your turbo right away, but it will damage the turbo over a period of time.

NOT using a BOV or bypass *might* be ok for low boost, but you definately dont want to run high boost with NO BOV. You also do not want to use a bypass valve for high boost, cause many of those units are not able to handle high boost pressure.

The non-intercooled version of the Mitsubishi Starion/Conquest didn't come with a BOV and they never had any problems with turbo reliability at 7-8 psi.

BTW - My Blitz sounds exactly the same as those vids.

greddy sold the turbo kit without the bov to keep the price down, but the main reason is because the air discharging into the atmosphere makes the turbo kit illegal in california and probably other states as well. you know their FCU? its basically like an internal fmu, it is illegal to have fuel altering devices that are showing. i grabbed all this info from a tech guy at the apexi garage sale who was comparing their stuff to greddy.

Hey, I have the Blitz BOV and I would like to swap someone straight across for the Greddy Type S. Anyone interested? You can view it at www.team-vision.org See cliff's profile.
