chances are that you will not build any boost without a load (neutral)

no you will not stall. i have reved my engine many times in neutral building a few pounds of boost just enough to blow off and i have never had any problems. and jes for the record even if its not a huge bov doesnt mean it doesnt wurk as good.

the reason your friends gsx, stalled when he revved it is because his car uses a mass air sensor, which meters air right before the turbo, so when the bov releases air into the atmosphere, this air is already metered. so i beleive that this creates a rich condition for a split second and that is why it stalled, oh and im not sure but i think that the stock bov on those cars suck in air at idle, i could be wrong though.

i know stalling sounds pretty intense. but a friend of mine has a 1g eclipse gsx and he removed the bov return pipe that goes back into the turbo inlet. so the bov blows into the atmosphere, and when we he rev'd it up to 5k rpm and just let go and the bov went hisss... the rpm drops and stalls. and when he put it back its normal again.
a honda won't do this, only DSM's. The map for some reason is looking for the air to vent back into the intake for some reason, and when it doesn't see it, it freaks out. This was explained to me by a DSM guy a couple months ago, but i wasn't really paying attention, though i remember he said some dsm's did it, and don't didn't. I forgot the varibles though....
