which is the best setup
whats up i posted in drag racing forum and didnt get much response. I am getting ready to do a motor swap and needed some insight. My goal is to have a low 13 to high 12 second street car. My car is a 95 civic coupe and i want these times on street tires. I am almost certian I will do a turbo, unless I can do all motor for less money. I just want an opinion on going with LS turbo or B20 turbo. I hear the B20's arent *** reliable, and if i can achieve these 1/4 mi times with a ls than it will be cheaper. Basically............Can i achieve low 13's with a LS turbo. And if so is it a better idea to keep it non-vtec (definitely cheaper ), and If you are reacing these times all motor can u tell me your setup.
Ls non-vtec +
t3-t4 turbo (turbonetics) +
hondata +
ls tranny +
stock bottom end if possible= 13's on street tires??????

Re: which is the best setup (yusoslo)
Don't use the vtec head, with a built block, turbo, P&P head, and standalone you'll be plenty happy with the results. I'm a fan of Vtec, yes, but it isn't always nessesary for every application. With a full race motor Vtec is useless, and that also added rotational weight on the crank. Less weight = faster spool and Mo Powa!!!
