Best Boost application...
I never post in this forum, but since i am going to go with a turbo application on my gsr, i figure i might get a couple opinions for you guys. I currently have a NA setup with Jun3 cams and i am going to a boost set up.
My question lies with whats the best boost set up to make roughly 250-300whp. I am not sleeving my block, but i am going to put 9.1 compression pistons and eagle rods in the short block. I guess basically, what is one of the best ways to peice a turbo set up together with quality parts and save a couple bucks from just buying a bolt on kit.
Any help and opinions that you guys have to offer will be appreciated. Also could you leave the names of places to purchase stuff from when you suggest a peice for my set-up.
thank,
matt

Re: Best Boost application... (ping83)
well if you wanna run between 250-300 and the wheels you dont really need to replace pistons and rods. I'm running 252whp @9psi on stock gsr and its quick. my suggestion would be to get the exact turbo that you want. do alot of research in regards to what size turbo you want while keeping your power goals in mind. other than the turbo, you can find the other pieces used (IMO). generally you can find someone selling an intercooler, pipes, bov, and manifold for your application which would save alot of money. most importantly you want a good tune and engine management. thats what will make or break the car.
