Default running really hot

is it possible to be overheating and your tach still show normal operating temps? the car seems like its running really hot, but tach shows normal temps. could the tach be defected?

i never see my cooling fan turn on, what to check for, fuses?

I witnessed this on a friend's car just this past week. Datalogging showed his car running really hot + his overflow was bubbling, but the stock cluster showed a normal operating temp. It turned out to be a cracked radiator

Yes it is completely possible. the stock temp gauge is crap... it will show either normal operating temp or Hot - time to get new head gasket. Do yourself a favor and get an aftermarket one.
