Besides reliability, how much more POWER can be brought out w/ Hondata?
I know Hondata is great for reliability, but how much more power can be brought out of this compared to well tuned piggy back units (ie: AIC and BTM, or FMU, AFC and BTM).

i dont know HP estimates...but it simply comes down to the fact that you can more accurately tune your air fuel ratio and ignition. It depends what you are using now, and how well that is working.

Well tunning with the AFC, BTM, etc is tunning but it's just general and broad. You can get more specific and detailed with Hondata or any other ECU. The AFC has it's limited and devices such as Hondata just takes those limitations and throws them out the window. Its like trying to write a program in IBM Assembler Language as compared to writing a program in JAVA. Java is just more powerfull and effective.

also dont forget how careless and complicated "tuning" the hondata can be. saw a few people with it here in the bay area that have problems with their settings.

It's easier than tuning any other standalone system. The car is not going to tune itself

Either method given a mechanically identical engine has the POTENTIAL to yield exactly the same power output. It's EASIER to get that power with the standalone. And you will almost certainly give up some quality driveability to achieve the same power with "piggyback" units. But given dyno time and expertise to tune either one correctly, it's the mechanical parts that make power.
