What EBC are you using? Pros, cons, etc.
I am trying to decide what EBC to get. I want everything right when I install my kit.
I remember dustin talking about how much he liked his Apexi AVCR, and then I remember people saying it is a real pain to setup, etc. Was it Art also running an AVCR...those things are real expensive, I am just thinking of the Greddy Profec B.
Please list your EBC, how you like it, what you dislike, and what kind of improvements you saw over a MBC or just wastgate spring control.

AVC-R is really easy to set up if you read the instructions.
People seem to want to play with the toy without reading the instructions first.

Thats a good thing to hear. I guess you could say I am the **** type of person, I like to memorize instructions before using something!
Anyone know a good place to get an AVC-R for less then $599? That seems to be the price I find.

How bout you just start with a MBC?

But I mostly want an EBC for the more accurate WG control. The faster the turbo spools, the faster I go faster!

I got mine for $400 shipped from titanmotorsports.com 2 weeks ago, I've had both the profec B and AVC-R. I would recommend the AVC-R. I just checked the site right now looks like its going for 459 now

One feature I realllly like about my avc-r is the peak hold.. I have a habit now of resetting the peak/hold everytime I hit max boost. It's become a natural movement for me. Anyway, it's a nice tool to check 'how much boost at how much % throttle at what rpm at how much sol duty' so on and so on. there are so many cool features!
i bit overpriced yes. but DAMN it looks good!

Also,
about having trouble 'setting' it up. I really wouldn't worry about it because you have a resource called honda-tech.com! If you have questions about your avc-r there are tons of knowledgable doofles on this board who would jump on your question and answer it. Your answer will probably come in a matter of minutes!

Re: (AnDylishus)
One place that I have seen with great prices and service is http://www.optauto.com. I plan on getting either one of the following from them if I can't find a better deal anywhere else: Greddy Profec B, Blitz SBC-iD, or Apexi AVCR.
You could also ask Antonio(DragII) on this board if he could hook you up with a good price from his store. I just IM'd him about prces on the Profec B and the Blitz.

Re: What EBC are you using? Pros, cons, etc. (HXMan)
i have an HKS EVC which i bought used for 250. it has the fuzzy logic stuff which seems to work pretty well. i noticed boost coming in sooner and much less of a boost drop in the upper rmp band as opposed to the regular wastegate. the only problem i noticed was when the weather changed suddenly, my boost would sometimes spike too high or come up short...depending, of course, on the type of change in weather.
