Default bent valve?

Last night i was picking up some free pizza from a friend who manages pizza hut. They were pressing me to do a burnout. i did one and i saw the needle hit 8500. All seemed well. About 5 blocks down the street i could hear ticking over the stereo. i turned it down hoping it was this crappy van in front of me.wrong. the ticking gets louder and faster as the rpms go up. im thinking bent valve the car seems to run as well as it did before(i wasnt beating it after that). oh well, i was gonna put it away in a few weeks for winter, but **** man, this is even more money im gona have to spend in the spring.
/end rant

i dont rev to 8500 ever. i saw the tach hit it out of the corner of my eye. it makes much more power now that its boosted and its hard to controll it in 1st gear.

do a leakdown test if you have access to one. could also hook up a vacuum gauge to see if it holds a steady vacuum. If it doesnt then start taking the head off.
