Default Ball bearing upgrade?

I know a ball bearing upgrade makes a turbo more reliable, and spool lower? How much lower would a TO4/T3 spool up? 500 rpms?

I really want the Drag III kit, but I am wondering if an upgrade to a BB turbo is worth it.

One more question...assuming a built engine, how much boost can the above turbo push efficiently on a b16a2? 20psi?

Thanks for the help, learning all this FI stuff is like learning about honda's in the beginning.

ball bearings should only be used on race cars..use the regular turbo on the streets

Why should a ball bearing turbo only be used on race cars? Lower spool would be a good thing on the street.

that turbo could probably push to 20 but I'd have the block sleeved before i'd push it that much. bb turbos are a good thing.

I have only heard good things about ball bearing turbos being used on the streets. Not sure how many RPM lower the turbo will spool up...once I heard 700 less than normal but that's not from a reliable source.

The benefits of the BB option do not justify the $550.00 price tag.

I got sick of waiting for the extra time it takes to make the BB turbo.
They say it spools about 500 rpms quicker, give or take.
You will be making the same power either way, so if the quicker spool time is worth it to you, go for it.

Same peak power, but a wider overall powerband. 500 rpms not really worth $550 to me though. Maybe if I had a better job.

Oh, and I would never think of boosting a unbuilt honda engine to 20 psi.

yeah i definatly don't reccomend the turbo if you want it soon, cause that just isn't gonna happen. However, I was able to overlook the steep price, because the extra boost time was worth it for me.
