Default Full Ball Bearing Turbo?

Is anyone on the boards running a ball bearing turbo on their setup? I have been considering going to a ball bearing cartridge turbo and just just curious if anyone has one they drive on the street and what kind of results they are getting. There is a company that is pretty local that has ball bearing turbos that will bolt to the drag manifold and are rated in 550 and 650 max horsepower trims. I don't know the exact specs, but the turbos are huge in person. If you blow in the compressor housing, though, the blades spin inside very very easily and stay spinning so I don't think spooling it would be a problem at all. Anyone have any experience with this?

I run a ball bearing T4 60-1 turbo on my gsr engine. It's spools nicely and gets full boost around 4.3k rpm. When full boost hits, it's pulls like ****. It's not a bad street turbo, i enjoy it. Most people may pull at first, but it's the end of the race that matters and you'll be ahead.

That is a DSM flange. That is part of a ball bearing turbo kit for DSMs, but other then the flange, its pretty much what I'm looking at.

Its a garrett ballistics (sp?) Custom turbo built by Forced Performance for DSM applications, but it is also available with a T3 exhaust flange that would work for my application. Its a sick sick turbo. Is that the credit you are speaking of?

Call Forced Performance at (214) 544-7160 and find out what the going rate is. They have some SICK regular turbos called the Green and Red Models. The green has run 10s and the reds have run 9s.

They build awesome custom turbos, too, and the owners and people that work there are very well educated about helping you pick out exactly what you would need. They just moved to a new shop in Dallas with an in house dyno and lifts. If you are interested in a nice turbo for your car and the expertise to back it up, its definitely reccomended. As far as the prices go on the greens and reds, they are about the same price as similar turbos from other manufacturers.

Yes. That is. Thank you.

Also, its not a .70 housing. No one but Brian, Loern and Bob know that A/R on that housing. Proprietary secret ya know. It is availible in a normal form for any users from Garrett as a ballistic series turbo. Bood luck finding out what wheels and housings are on there though. As far as I am concerned, they are the only turbo reseller. Anything less is uncivilized.

I am getting one. 2.4ltrs + 35psi + AWD = great fun!
