Default bad boost creep

well i did my reaserch and all i can think of is diffrent manifold

well i have a turbonetics delta gate waste gate.. with the spring i had i crept to about 15 psi with my controller disconected and the vacume coming off the comp. housing. so my tuner said get a smaller spring and i just bought a 33 dollar 5 psi spring and it still creeps to my boost cut at .78 bar wich is about 11psi should i run my vac sorcue to the im manifold or to a diffrent vac. line. im pretty stumped

this isnt the exact manifold just this style and my waste gate port is straight out not at an angle

its the wastegate i had the same problem. i changed over to evolution wastegate and the problem went away. i did the same thing tried a different spring and it made no difference

it depends on the wastegate but mine fit just fine most of the wastegates are pretty close when it comes to that

I also had that problem with that wastegate. Swapped over to a turbosmart wastegate and solved the problem.

well i figured out today that my greddy ebc isnt working right or i dont think it is at idle when i check for vacume going to the waste gate there isnt any..
so i threw on a mbc and now my waste gate stays open well my dump tube stays open its really loud i dont think its supposed to work like this and i have the controller all the way to low..
is the waste gate bad or i just have it hooked up wrong again i have a 5psi spring inside and when i take the vac line off completley it still bost till like 11 psi any suggestions

deltagates have been known to creep. especially the old ones. try a different wg. i recommend tial but that my opinion. but if you disconnected the wastegate line completely it should spike to whatever the turbo can push. what turbo is it?

its a garett 57 trim t3/t4
im gonna check the vac line going to the side of the waste gate to the compr housing i might run it to the im see how that works
what about the ebc i have it hooked up how greddy says for external waste gates from comm to normaly closed does this mean the solenoid needs to open it or it opens when it sees boost

usually ebc's you need to connect it to both ports on the wastegate. not just one.

delta wastegate suck *** ....change it out for a tial ......second the position of where the wastegate sits is not right ....how is it going to read the exhaust when it is pointing upward. when the exhaust is going down.....personally i think that manifold sucks .....just reposition the wastegate ..have it rewelded

yea wastegate placement is a pretty big factor too. if it was going down it wouldnt creep or spike as much.

i dont want to just swap manifolds and waste gates just because its an older model.. when i put the vac on the waste gate i can see the lever going in and out so it is working but im gonna get a vac test and see if theres leaks also would a leaking manifold gasket to the block cause turbo lag or creep i would think lag.

Deltagates were known to creep if you opened them up to replace the spring. The diaphragms are fairly fragile. I'm guessing you got a five year old used part that's been through a bunch of hands... throw it away, sir.

Also, Greddy Profec B spec 2 is garbage. They either consistently do not work or they merely cause boost spiking by completely blocking off wastegate signal, depending on how they are configured.

well im not sure about the greddy profec ebc but i know for aem truboost you have to have one go to the side port on the wastegate and the top port. so idk. deltagates arent that great. just get a tial.

okay so i did a pressure test on the waste gate and it had leaks everywhere especially from the mounting bolts of the waste gate to the dump tube part.
so i took it all apart and put it back together with gasket maker on all the threads of the screws and around the top mounting screws also. Now it holds boost like a champ solid all the way to red line.
but more bad news on my test drive right after i finished doing my head gasket i hit a really hard dip in the road due to construction and my suspension took a **** on me (tires hitting the frame) looks sick but i cant drive. if any one has a hook up on suspension or some for sale hit me up

The combination of the Deltagate and that SSAC manifold is just asking for problems...i would switch them both out for something reliable...
