Backfire..Too rich or too lean??

Default Backfire..Too rich or too lean??

i backfire everytime i let off the gas and when i idle
i tune down the gas and still its backfiring FPR is at 38psi
im running a D16z6 w P28 I/H/E
Ignition wires 8.5..6A blaster 2

anyone have this problem and solved it

so you guys are saying if i don't have a cat its common to back fire
if so im guilty.. the beauty of hawaii no emission laws or smog checks

would an old cat be the same as no cat...for backfiring reasons?? i have stock cat and my car is a 95.
