b20b and boost????????
I have a b20/vtec (b16 head) my comp ratio is about 9:1, untuned and at 8-9 psi it made 229whp and 202 torque.. runs good just need a vafc to tune my car and should see 260-280whp (with cams gears tuned in too) Maybe more, but who knows.

The problem with the B20 sleeves is not tuning for us, it was the 14psi we ran on it.
BTW, It was a JDM b20b without a vtec head. It had sick torque!
The one thing that needs to be replaced when turboing a B20 block is the crankshaft. Replace it with a B18B for turbo.
i just got my 99 b20z today, it has 64k and it's totally stock, i'm puttin on my drag genIII hybrid turbo kit with t3/t04e turbine and a 94 ls intake manifold.......i'm gonna run like 8psi on it, i read a post last night on some board that this guy had one with about the same kit, he had a safc and ran 12.6 at 110......this was on 22inch slicks, should this motor be reliable at 8psi and fully tuned on hondata should it possibly hit high 11's???

The reason for cam gears is that I have gsr cams in my car.

my car is a decently lightened 92 si........it prolly weighs around 2400lbs......about 2750 with me in it? it's missing the srs system, cause i hate airbags, it's also missing stupid trinquet stuff i.e. bumper supports and what not......so it might even be lighter?
i think it's around there somewhere?? but with the turbo and a b series swap it should be a bit heavier, i might have gotten it back to stock weight by removing some of the stuff i mentioned earlier........i'm still tryin to see what people have ran with similiar b20z/b motors.......anyone??
im doin the same set up in my 92 si.. . b20b block and LS head. . im building mine i think with 9:1 which is like stock compression and rods and blockgaurd, arp studs. and the head will stay stock for now. . . im gettin a rev hard kit and i got a NOS set up im goin to have spray on the cooler
if u are all sayin stock b20 will handle 8-9psi. . i think im gonna run 15 i just dont know what injector size to go with. . . and i need a safc too

i used to have an ls and a zex kit, i was squeeain a modded 125 shot. and i never got to run it at the track but it beat my buddies 13.90 gt mustang by like 6 cars and it spun all through 3rd gear, it was quick
you guys are getting me all excited, were just putting together an EF project:
this is what we have so far:
89 EF DX
JDM B20b
JDM sir LSD cable tranny
ACT stage 2
Todem mounts
AEM ems
Equal length manifold, have not decided on what turbo to run yet...
Have not deceded on axles yet...
Stripped this **** down to nothing.
I'm hoping for 12 seconds passes on slicks!
Were going to run the engine stock but I want to at least put in a cometic and a blockguard....

i'm just about to put in my b20z and i'm still a little shakey on whats a safe boost level to run it at if it's tuned, i've heard the stories of 12.6's on 8lbs and i've heard the stories of blown sleeves at 14psi.......whats a safe level of boost to run on the track, possibly on race gas, i'd like to hit high 11's if possible
i dont understand how a 10.9:1 CR would make a b20 break...one of the guys on here is running a compression somewhere in the 12's, and as far as reving goes...i took my b20 block(stock) to 8 a few times, with over reving and missed shifts...all you really need are retainers and valve springs, b/c stock b20 valves will start to float arund the stock rev limit(6800-7000)

That is incorrect, The correct compression with P3F pistons/pr3 head and a 3 layer headgasket is 9.0:1 With a GSR head, its 9.2:1. If you have a 99-00 jdm b20b or a USDM 99-00 B20Z then the compression is 10:1 w/b16 head and 10.2:1 w/ GSR head </TD></TR></TABLE>
CRAP! I looked at my spreadsheet again, and you are correct. I don't know why I thought that it bumped it up THAT high. Maybe you can help my math a little:
For CRV/VTEC: (USDM B20B w/ GSR head)
Numbers are per cylinder
Bore = 8.4
Stroke= 8.9
Gasket thickness =0.06
Piston dish = 8.5 cc
Head volume = 41.6 cc
Swept volume = 493.22 cc
C/R = 10.23
With 2mm head gasket C/R drops to 9.0:1
