b20 turbo, thinking of going b20/vtec, have questions
Hi everyone, this is my first post and I have a question. My current setup is as follow, 92 vx hatch, 00 b20z motor- stock internals, 00 si tranny, act clutch, rc 440 injectors, hondata s100 with boost, 255 fuel pump, aeromotive fpr, str fuel rail, stainless steel fuel hose, rev hard turbo manifold, skunk2 intake manifold, hks blow off valve, modified starion intercooler, turbonetics t/3 turbo (yes its small but i like it, full boost at 3000), 4 an oil feed with british thread adaptor into the block and a stainless 10an return line (no clamps, all earls fittings), and a tial wastegate with 8 lb spring. no boost controller.
anyways, that was kinda bragging/kinda informing, well my question is this, im thinking of puttin on a vtec head, is there a head that is compatible with my intake manifold bolt pattern so i can use the skunk2 one i already have, and i have noticed people notching the pistons on the b20's before they put a vtec head on yet i cant find an explanation as to why they do this, is it something i need to do? And finally, I have a JG head to put on the block if i choose to, but would a vtec one make more power at the same boost levels with proper tuning on either setup.
and to give props, st00pid (Jason H.) at autologic in Houston, TX helped me with everything in my setup, i have few pictures if you want.

There is no VTEC head that has the same intake manifold pattern as your B20/LS head. The reason people notch the pistons is clearance for the valves.
