B20 boost?
Hi everyone. This morning i picked up a 1990 CRX DX with a blown motor.
I was thinking of possible motor swaps, and a B20b came up. Id imagine the motor is pretty good for turbo, low compression, high displacement, etc... Plus, the longblock can be had for 6-700 bucks.
How much boost can a stock motor take? Im gonna rebuild whatever motor i get before i drop it in, just for piece of mind.
I did a search, but there was no "B20" in all of the forced induction forum.
Thanks!

the sleeve designs suck. they crack way to easily. just get an ls, and if you want more displacement slleeve it and bore it out

I'm actually in the process of B20z supercharged......As long as you keep the pressure LOW, you will be fine. It will be a fun/peppy build, but not v8 killin'.

Honestly B20's have weak sleeves but usaully any motor can take 10 psi.
Just make sure to get it tuned by a really good tuner timing is going to be critical.

You need a tuner on their level. Then the B20 should run fine.
I see so many b20's in the junkyards around here I'm kind of tempted to grab one and try it out.

We have a EG with a stock B20 block and head. Putting 10 lbs boost on a Hondata S300 and 550cc injectors. Put down 230 whp and 220 ft.lbs, runs 12.4 at 108 mph. Been running for almost 2 years now.

one of the biggest pitfalls is not only its sleeves but its lack of the "standard" honda PCV system. ALL of the B20s pressure comes thru the head.
you need to set it up properly on the back of the block, the spots are there, they just arent used
