B18b1 Boosted Questions?
STOCK INTERNALS BOOSTED
So I have a '95 eg sedan with a b18b1/ LS swap in it and was wondering if I'm running a good boosted setup on stock internals for now until I want to build the engine? I have most of the parts besides an oil return line for the turbo to the oil pan. Power goal on stock internals : 250whp. Goal with Built Turbo: 450whp(whole new story)
Parts for car Turbo build:
.50 trim turbonetics Turbo
Cast Iron log manifold
GodSpeed Wasegate
Gsr Tapped Oil pan
Hks Bov
Emusa Intercooler kit
P75 ECU
So will this be a good setup with stock internals and what PSI would be good on stock internals, I was thinking 5-8 PSI ?
Also, When it comes to building the engine a budget doesn't matter for me.
Parts I was looking at for full build:
Block: ACL or king race bearings, 8:9/ 9:1 Wiseco Pistons, Forged Eagle Rods
Head: On the head I was wondering if I should keep the Stock LS Head or get a GSR Vtec:?
Brian Crower cams and gears,, ARP Head studs(if i did a GSR vtec head would I need c1 studs instead of b1)
other Parts: Possibly New Intake manifold(not sure which brand to run), bosch 750cc injectors, ngk spark plugs, walbro 255 fuel pump, Type R OEM throttle body, OEM Oil/water pump, hondata s300
and some other stuff I must have missed but would this also be a good setup for a goal of 450whp?

Re: B18b1 Boosted Questions?
Because I know how anxious people get with these types of builds I would just throw your kit on and run it. I would try and find a GSR block and head to build up on the side that way you can do what your going to do because I'm sure no matter what people say you will still decide to put the turbo on the car.
Once you get the spare block and head for your power goal I would get a nice set of Arias 10:1 compression pistons, eagle rods and ACL bearings. I would then invest the extra money into a good valve train, you don't need to port the head at all for your type of turbo application and your power goal. This may sound a bit over the top but I would get a full Ferrea Valve Train, I mean Comp Plus Valves, springs, retainers, seals etc. You could run stock Type R cams, stock Type R throttle body and Edelbrock manifold and you would be set for a good strong motor.
Now as far as the turbo goes you will probably need a better and bigger turbo then what you currently have but once you get the motor done and your ready to move up at that point I would start looking for suggestions.

Thanks I will look into everything and consider looking into of the the parts that you said.
also how much PSI Would be good on internals and also after I build it?

Re: B18b1 Boosted Questions?
I have a similar build and laid down 351whp 261twq on 16psi w/92 pump and a real conservative tune.
stock sleeve 81.5mm ls block, b20 crank, 10:1 weisco pistons, Eagle h beams, stock b16 head with gsr cams, turbonetics .50/.63, ramhornaments mani. skunk2 intake mani, skunk2 70mm tb, rc 1000cc's, walhbro 255
I am planning to build the head get cams and go get it re-tuned on e85 and try to hit 450ish. as far as stock internals it all has to do with the tune. I've seen more and more now days people pushing a stock ls to 20psi with the right setup and tune. it's Wethersfield you want more power vs longevity.

A lot of these are redundant questions. I'm going to send you over to the B18B- LS-T Turbo setup area and have you look through all 1297 pages of these setups, so you can see the various options.

If you have specific questions regarding your particular setup that you've listed, we can keep this thread open. Otherwise, I can close it, and merge you with that group and you can have more relevant questions answered there.
