b16a3 with mr2 supercharger
i happend to have both in my posession and thinking about a next project.
i belive the MR2 supercharger rotates in correct direction to be mounted in place of ac compressor.
i can make brackets and piping and whatever else needed.
but i never done any kind of forced induction setups..
what other acessories/meters/valves i need for this to run properly?
heres why i want to do it.
i belive it is possible to make it work
mr2 turbo has a clutch to disengage it
i want to build the intake system that can switch to open intake when SC is disabled.
with moates 2timer i can have 2 different maps on same chip for boost and NA
if both tuned properly the biggest challenge i think would be making that air tight valve to switch between open intake pipe and SC pipe
will that work in theory or will it not work because honda doesnt have the cvt gear like toyota has?

I believe the Mercedes kompressor has the type of air intake system you are lookin for, possibly borrow parts from that.
But to be honest your going to end up with an over complicated mess that will only provide minimal bennifits over running one path.

Re: b16a3 with mr2 supercharger
i've seen a few people run the mercedes units on d and b series... they are actually simple to install. people place them in front of the motor on the ac mount to be able to run a fmic. the mercedes units also have a clutch, run one wire and you're golden. the units are also cleaner, no hoses and **** to hang off the unit. just run a filter to the inlet, run your piping and boom.
the hardest part will be fabbing the mount, getting a properly sized sc pulley and getting the proper amount of belt wrap. you can find mercedes superchargers on ebay for the cheap. a lot of people use the smaller 230 kompressor, i would look into the one of the 320/srt6 crossfire. its considerably larger and much more efficient.
and you dont need two maps, heres how you do it... use an output from the ecu to control the sc clutch, like vtec or a nitrous output... tune the car in the vacuum tables with the clutch disengaged, tune the rest with it engaged... the car will run seamlessly, due to the fact that even with the clutch engaged it will still run in vacuum... do you see what im trying to get at? it would be just like tuning a turbo setup... that is, when youre not in boost with the clutch engaged the car runs fine in vacuum or boost. and with it disengaged it runs in the lower load tables.
sorry if its kinda babbling, ive been up entirely too long

cool im gonna check on that mercedes sc.
i had the toyota one for few years didnt know what to do with it.
the reason for two maps is i also like na b16 its gutless but still fun to drive.it is really smooth sounding engine...
and i think the sc spins right direction from toyota. someone already put it on b r d series engine
sc14 is from previa i think
and sc12 is from a 1.6 liter MR2 and should do fine on 1.6 honda
but im gonna check into that mercedes stuff or even MR2 because they also have same type of intake design SC engages at 2500 rpm or so

I know that...
I've seen two people use the lysholm off the 320.they make good power
. With a pulley and a tune on the srt6 we would make over 400rwhp
