Default B16A2 Rebuild Question...

Due to my Piston Seals being shot, I have decided to rebuild my block ... I just need a little advise;

I'm going for the Eagle Rods and JE Pistons from Ben . What I need to know is which size to get?? I want to drop the CR slightly as I've been told this i better for boost. Is there anything else to change at this time? The Block will also be getting a port&polish at the same time.

Which head gasket is the best one to use?

Setup: Max Rev Mani, 2.5" DP, T3/T04e 57trim 48ar, 425cc Inj, VAFC, Uprated FP.

I'm looking to get rid of the hack and run the Hondata S200B. I want to run 1 bar for everyday use and then around 18psi for track (Hi-boost). Will the 425cc Inj be enough?? What kind of Power would I be looking to get at these psi levels??

Any info appreciated.

the compression ratio i would suggest is 9.0:1 for the pistons, then you still have a good windoe for boost and done get sucked too dry with lag down low.

also unless your block has been bored over the piston width will be stock size.

i would also suggest using a block guard. especially if the sleeves are stock

best head gasket to use is the one you can get from your honda dealer

the injectors, i wouldnt risk it, if you got the money go with some 600cc or larger. remember its better to go too large then too small, especially when running hondata

as for the hp numbers, i wouldnt even guess. dont worry how fast the car is going to be or how much hp you can get. get turbo'd then tuned and then see what you get.

Ok my suggestion would be if not sleeved use 9 to 9.5:1 compression like silver said. I would recomend a bore and hone to match the pistons like 81.5mm, only because of ring seal. Sometimes a hone will work, but depending on mileage and scaring because of blown up spark plugs or bad rings, you have less of a chance of blow-by if the piston and bore is matched...

In terms of Headgasket I like factory ones and spay them with copper seal.

Also I would use ARP head studs as well.

Remember, by going with a set of 9:1 JE pistons for a GSR, they will end up being 8:1 in a B16! JE makes piston's for GSR's, which can be used in a B16 as well as any B series motor, but your comression will drop by 1 point.
I would recommened Weisco. Not that JE is bad, but Weisco is a much lighter piston, with a better design as well. Plus they cost only $399.00 with rings from race engineering.
