Default In need of consultants! mafia check in!

Ok fellers....

its time, the time has come to start the bottom end build.

this is what we know so far:
b16a2 (2000 civic Si)
RC 310's (soon to be changed to 440s with standalone)
Vortech FMU (8:1)
Inline fuel pump
t3/t043 (.63ar / 54 trim)

ive decided on hondata, not sure on 2b or 3b yet, but def one of the two. im at the point now where im ready to build the bottom.

so far i know i want the follow:

Pistons (what compression?)
Rods
Head gasket?
440cc Injectors,
Stand alone
Head Studs?
block guard?

im looking for 10-12psi daily. looking for 350 hp range, daily driver

im not sure what compression pistons would be best for me, given my long term goals. also, what make? which rods, should i go with an aftermarket thicker head gasket? how bout a block guard. help me guys!

I would say go with the ever so popular JE/Eagle combo. Tried and true up to 700 hp and maybe even beyond.
If your going hondata and from the numbers you want to push I would suggest larger injectors. Either 550's or even 720's.
As far as hondata. It depends if you dragrace the car a lot. I figure that you know the difference between the 2b and 3b. I opted for the 3b and even though Ive only been once to the track so far, I do love the 2step contol.
Stock, or cometic headgasket. ARP studs. I dont really like the blockgaurds.
Good luck!!! Im about to take the plunge with building the bottom end minus sleeving for now.

ur gonna need at least 550's for 350whp. you probably will need more then 12psi to make 350whp as well. just build your bottem end with good pistons/rods/and sleeves and use stock honda gaskets, bearings, and other stuff. Endyn/eagle/Golden Eagle seems to be the best bang for the buck build up ive seen.

read a few threads down on the resulting compression ration on a b16's motor..

9:1 is lower compression than the 9.5:1 heehhehehe

go with 9:1..safer, and you;re not sacrificing a whole lot of power either....

Right, if it's you're daily driver you'll prolly want 9:1-ish for tuning sake. It'll be easier to drive and you won't have to constatly eyeball your guages. With higher compression, you have to keep a closer handle on your tuning, but it does make more power.
