I dont get it haha. Is it because they have turbo and intake manifolds that are better for high end power? Or would my Y8 have stayed at 200tq even if I kept upping the boost?

Check out go hard jersey's b16 making over 300 tq..

Rebuilding my Dailies B16A3 for boost. I don't want this to be another "never-ending money pit build." So I plan to keep it as basic as possible, or OEM rather.

Motor will be getting honed, hot tanked, valve job, mild port and polish.

Picked up a full cometic gasket kit, arp head studs, bolt boy hardware kit, acl bearings, nippon pistons, and all new OEM timing belt, tensioner, water pump and oil pump.

I have a few questions for you guys though.

First, my gasket kit came with an 82mm head gasket. I will only be honing my block and stock bore is only 81mm. Is this safe to run?

And secondly, while its apart getting rebuilt would it be worthwhile to swap out the rods or any of the valve train with something from an LS, GSR, CTR/ITR motor?

I'll admit I'm a D series guy at heart, I know very little about B series.

None of the other rods will fit in a b16. While its apart you could add Arp rodbolts. You'll have ask the machine shop to check the big end of the rod though. The Arp rod bolts tend to make the big end out of round and they have to be machined back to round.

Man....going through this thread make me so anxious to have mine done!!

Just waiting on a few more parts to come in - 3bar MAP/Boost controller/exhaust mani

And then its off to the MPI to be installed and tuned! Its a fairly simple set up - b16a over bore .20 - eagle rods JE pistons - ACL bearings - ARP studs - GSR camshafts - BC gears - garrett t3/t04 silver surfer

Going to be running AEM fpr - walbro 255 - precision 780s

And tuning on crome - hoping to hit 400whp (at least 380)

Will post pics/dyno results when its done! (should be around the end of May)

Man i could of sworn you were building a B18c and not a B16. I'm with you anyway.. i have a Sufer and a B16 which is a similar spec to yours.

You would have had yours fully up and boosting before me though. I'll keep my eye open for your results anyway. If i do miss them for what ever reason please drop me a pm !!!

Thanks for the heads up on the rods. Dunno if i should grab the rod bolts or not? Dont plan on making more then 300whp.

Still need input on the 82mm head gasket on stock 81 mm bore.

And valvetrain recommendations as far as swapping my stock b16 with that of a b18

I have to reignite this thread casue I need help. Im working on building my first B16 and I have some questions.

So Ive started my build, on a stock block decidedly, and here is my list:

CX racing (ebay) turbo kit t3/t4
38mm (8psi) wastegate
FMIC
All supporting piping, return oil lines, etc.
NGK brk6 spark plugs and wires
AEM high flow fuel rail
550cc injectors
Chipped p28 ECU
Fresh stock valvetrain, head gasket, timing belt
Stage 2 clutch (not sure what brand)
Stock intake mani port matched and polished

My question is, im not going for crazy power so do I need any of this????:
3 Bar map sensor (ive read that the stock map sensor can read up to 11psi and i only plan to run 8psi)
Walbro 255 fuel pump (ive also read that the stock fuel pump can idle properly with up to 720cc injectors)
Eagle Rods (willg et eventually)
Cp pistons 8.1 (will get eventually)
Fidanza aluminum lightweight flywheel ( should I?)
Golden eagle block guard

Im only going for around 250whp and I will be going to the DYNO to get it professionally tuned

You need the walbro 255. There only $80 new. Stock map sensor is fine for 8lbs. Stock flywheel is fine. For only 250whp stock block is fine as long as its healthy. Also get some Arp headstuds.
