Default B16 Turbo Setup

Well I am about to start building my B16 CRX....I'm first going to get a full Skunk2 valvetrain, then pistons and rods...Then onto the turbo setup...I want a good setup but I also want it be on the cheap side...I know they don't go together but you know what I mean....I only want to reach 250whp..so any good ideas on setups..engine manegment and all that Thanks

you don't even need to build anything for the 250whp power level, just get a good tune on it

yup, you can leave the valvetrain alone if you're only shooting for 250 HP.

To keep costs down you could look into these for your setup:

$40 DSM 450's
$10-$15 resistor box (if you your CRX doesn't have it already)
$89 Walbro 255lph intank fuel pump
FREE!!! Uberdata or Crome (obd 1) or Turboedit if you stick to OBD 0
$70-$110 ECU chipping suppleis and burner
$200-$300? Johnnyracecar intercooler
$200-$300 manifold
$400-$600 turbo (I would suggest a T3/T4
$300 downpipe and dumptube piping
$200 intercooler piping
$30-$50 1G DSM BOV
$80 silicone couplers and clamps
$20 vacuum lines
$100 oil feed/drain kit (contact Flamenco-T on H-T)
$200? to get somebody to weld up your IC, DP, and DT
$80 Hawker Odyssey PC680 sealed battery (since you have a CRX your battery is gonna have to go to the trunk)
$20-$40 misc brackets and bolts to mount battery to trunk floor
$100 power distribution block, 100A fuses, 100A fuse holder, 2GA wire, 4GA wire, misc
$??? might have to hack front crossmember to make room for downpipe, or get aftermarket crossmember (ie Full-Race, Lcon, spankjelly)
$40 may need to get EG halfsized radiator, (used OEM EG = $40-$80)

That's all I can think of...there is a lot more, probably about $500 for misc stuff I forgot to list.

If you dont wanna use the 1G valvetrain you could find a used set of GSR or ITR valvesprings from a reputable member. I haven't heard anything bad about 1G B16 valvetrains though. What specifically is it that you heard is bad about them?

If you think you might go with ITR cams in the future you should just wait for some ITR valvesprings or maybe just get the Skunk2 valvesprings. but there are a few sponsors on H-T that might be able to give you a better price on a valvespring set.

If you'e gonna stick with B16 cams then you can stick to the B16 valvesprings. But if you upgrade cams then you'll want to upgrade the valvesprings along with them.
