B16 Turbo head leaking oil badly
Hi Guys,
I have a b16 with a turbo, stock engine and head only pushing about 7 psi and I've hardly driven it.
Whats happening is when it warms up it starts leaking oil really badly from where the head and block meet right under the cam gears.
I thought it might be because when I put the engine together I forgot the dowl pins and the gasket needed to be changed. So I pulled the head off, checked for cracks in the block and head, and didn't see anything.
I replaced the gasket and added two dowel pins. However now after running for a few minutes its doing the same thing, even worse infact. Do you think its because I used the same head bolts and they're just not holding up? They are stock head bolts...
Any idea's? Thanks in advanced.

well, since headbolts are tty(torque to yield) i'm betting that you're torquing them to spec but since they've stretched they're not holding the head down all the way. And it's possible your head may need to be resurfaced and your block decked.

If the head is cracked or warped, you won't be able to just look at it and determine that it's not cracked or warped. You should take the head to a machine shop and have them check it. Also, get a set of ARP headstuds
