b16 spool time
i was wondering when a turbonetics t3/t04e (.60 ar compressor, .63 ar exhaust, 60 trim with a stage 3 wheel) will start to spool on a b16a2 with a lovefab sst mani running about 10-12 psi? searched and only found b18c1 spool times. thanks for the help guys.

It's hard to tell you exactly what RPM the turbo will spool. There are too many factors involved. Compression, ignition timing, cam timing, a/f, head, exhaust, etc. all contributes to turbo spooling.

Re: b16 spool time (green_GSR)
Are you running stock compression?
That's a good sized turbo, don't count on it spooling as fast on your 1.6 as it does on the B18C's.
As green_GSR said there are many factors contributing to spool time.

Re: b16 spool time (EpDarks)
im using 9:1 compression, in general which turbo will spool faster, the t3/t04e .60 trim, stage 3 wheel, .63 ar exhaust or the t3/60-1 stage 3 wheel, .60 trim, .63 ar exhaust? is this trim too big for a b16a2 that wants 400 whp? please tell me the size of a t3/t04e and of a t3/60-1 that will spool quickly but still pull hard up in the 7000rpms.

Re: b16 spool time (tgh99si)
why would the t3/60-1 be a better turbo for higher boost than the t3/t04e if the t3/t04e has the bigger exhaust housing than the t3/60-1? why do more of you guys recommend the t3/60-1? my goal is 400whp.

Re: b16 spool time (tgh99si)
Well....do you plan on 400 whp at 10-12 psi???? If so, I don't know if thats attainable at 9.0 compression. If you want 10-12 psi, get a t3. If you want 400 whp, I would say get a t3/t4, or maybe a super 60 t3.
You want to get the smalles tturbo that will reach your goals. Go too big and anyone with a brain will make fun of you for wasting your money and your shitty spool time.

Re: b16 spool time (drvfast)
so whats the difference between the t3/t04e and the t3/60-1? why is everyone going with the t3/60-1 over the t3/t04e? just wondering what the difference is and why a t3/60-1 is better on a b16 that will boost 10-20 psi. the t3/t04e spools at 4200 and when does the t3/60-1 spool? thank you all.
