Autotuning question
Well i got autotuning to work on my car... sort of. I have the aem ems and it works at any load below 31 but when i get to 31 at any rpm itll start at 9, raise up and then go right back down to 9 when i accelerate some more. Have any of you had that problem?

Re: Autotuning question (Civic_95_Si)
if you dont have aem ems and you havent autotuned before then you probably dont understand. Im not really expecting someone to know, but this forum is probably the one to ask about this.

Re: Autotuning question (highbrid)
have you filled out your target air/fuel ratio table completely? are you sure you are not going outside the range of your maps? what is your load axis set up in? psi?kpa?

Re: Autotuning question (racerxadam)
i have the target filled out completely, my y axis is just the normal load vs. speed table that is default. I had it set up with psi but for some reason i like the normal setup better.
Another thing is when i hit vtec i get ungodly rich and it doesnt get any leaner
My Automap values dont seem to match with my target at all. Is there anything i can do in the initialise automapping menu?

Re: Autotuning question (Mase)
they are pretty much the way that they came from aem. Jp told me to keep them close to that. The only thing i changed was the weight before change, i changed it to 20. the error mult. is still -6, additive 0,

Re: Autotuning question (highbrid)
my gain is 1.7,
and the graph looks like the y = x^2
if you followed it from techedge, im sure its fine
TURN O2 FEEDBACK OFF WHILE AUTOTUNING!!!!

Re: Autotuning question (highbrid)
I don't have EMS but I have autotuning. My hunch is that you are out of range of a certain AFR. Autotuning works for a certain AFR line 9.0:1 upto 17.0:1
BE sure to check whre you set yours.

It looks for a certain voltage, and when its off, it makes small corrections, until the target = the log
but say you are running way way rich, the lowest it will show is 9.0:1 @ 0 volts, it still knows you are running way rich.....etc.

Re: Autotuning question (highbrid)
i got autotuning to work rather well now. I copied my afr map onto my automapping table and it worked great. However when i get up to load above about 40 it just runs real rich like 9:1 and it doesnt change. Any suggestions?

Re: Autotuning question (Mase)
actually ive got quite a few boost cells tuned by automapping, it just seems like there are those few turd cells that wont change. i used the settings that blkmagic or whatever his name is did on the ems forum and automapping worked 100 times better. I guess I will just tune those cells by hand. Its just hard to guess what raw values to put in, especially when in vtec.

Re: Autotuning question (highbrid)
you go through the boost cells very quickly, its hard for the ems to calculate some of them.....if you really wanna tune it w/ automap, boost in fifth, slowly, and keep repeating the cells.

Re: Autotuning question (Mase)
i was doing the fifth gear pulls, but i just get to certain cells that wont change at all, i set them to like 12.5 or so but they go immediatly down to 9 and stick there.
