ATTN (arturbo).48 or .63 AR, what are the suplemental reasons??????
as i have been switching thru a few different turbos, i have started to wonder
what is more for my set up a .63 or a .48 AR????
its an 8.5:1 B16 fully built, the head is mildly built, meaning i DONT rev to 10,xxx rpms, my cams wont make much power above 8500 anyways.
the problem im running into is i dont seem to be getting onto the turbo sweet spot of efficiency,
the turbo is a t3t4B .60cold, and .63 hot(turbonetics) machine and modified to accept the new super "V" trim wheel. it makes great boost and i am running 18psi on it but.........
now seeing that most D16-sohc's run .48 would there be any benefit to me doing the same???
i mean what amount of exahust volume or HP determines the AR you should use??
the guy who built my turbo now says i need a .48 and NOT the .63 that i have now, but is in fear that i will run into "turbine choke"
so what are the options i have?
i have made over 300hp on the same set up and turbo, but boost comes in so late(like 5100) and i really dont want to make power that late, would it kill me to run a .48?? or should i stay with the .63 and get something with more sompressor flow???
help me out please!

Not Arturbo, but yeah I hate the Super-V.
I REALLY don't think you will like the .48 A/R tho. Power drops off dramatically in the upper RPM range.
The best thing you can do is change compressor wheels. Get a E .46 wheel or something.

thats what i asked for when i got the dang thing done and this guy (and turbonetics) says that the "B" is more efficient and im like "WTF mate!"
i just think i would need to be near the 11,xxx rpm range to get in the area i need to be, and i drive this thing on the street and dont plan on going that high.
thanks much bro!

I'm assuming you want to make power higher up in your powerband, right? Like the other guy said, I think you'll be sorely disappointed with the .48 exhaust side. It doesn't flow enough air above ~6,000rpm to really see gains from it. A .63 is going to flow better for you in the top end, but it won't spool as fast.
There's a guy here locally who's running a 60 trim T3/T04e with a .48a/r and he's making a little over 400whp @ 22psi on a stock B18B1. It's all about what you plan on doing with it.
