Default att: MAX-REV users, how the heck did you get a filter mounted?

i'm trying to figure out how max-rev kit users installed a filter on their setups? space is pretty tight there, just wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks.

if you need to drive it around you can always do the mesh and hose clamp trick. a lot of people actually run the car with that... but i wouldn't suggest it. for the time being you could run the mesh screen.

actually i am running the coffee screen FOR NOW, it doesnt make me feel to comfy womfy though.from the looks of it i may have to hit that tab on the block w/ a die grider AND maybe bend the hard line. f-max uses a flexi style intake tube that may work. (not sure) wish i knew where they find that sort of stuff.

heres a pic of the f-max intake tube http://www.f-max.com/D16A%20VTEC%20DYNO.htm

sorry i dont have a camera. i have the maxrev turbo+mani+dp with drag piping. to clear the hood i had to order a 3" inlet, 5" diameter, 6" long k&n straight filter. none of those small to big flared filters will fit .

I bought a rubber boot from a company call TPI Arizona. It's a 3 inch 90 degree bend. Then I cut a 3 inch U bend and put a filter on one end and attached it into the boot. Look nice, just like the drag setup. It cost me $28 dollars from start to finish. The rubber piece cost $18, kind of a rip, but I needed a filter during the monsoon season here in AZ. I don't have a picture I could try to get a camera and see if I can get it hosted. Later Allen

I used some metal tubing from Lowes. It's for duct work like running heating and air systems. Its 3"diameter and has has sections that swivel on it to make different angles from 180-90 degrees. I twisted it into almost a 90 and put the filter on (one of those cone shaped filters too) Works great, the filter is getting dirty
I had to grind off the tab on the block to fit it in though, their is no other way around it unless you just use a screen. Cost like $4-5

Also a question, would it make much of a difference if you were to run piping to the fenderwell to suck in cold air. I have an intercooler and didnt think it would be worth the time. My intercooler works really well.

With a good intercooler, it will not be worth it.
