Default ATS LSD USERS?

Anyone using an ATS LSD on their turbo car? I just put a jdm gsr tranny with ATS LSD in my car. It's the road racing lsd, when i turn the steering wheel the car shakes and the LSD makes clicking noises. I know it's normal for this type of LSD. I daily drive my car and want to hear experiences of people with ATS LSD's on the track. 1/4 mile only. Thanks.

That is a clutch type LSD that is used more by circuit course (road) drivers than any Drag racing. That LSD is not made for that type of use and you could seriously damage the clutch plates if you drag race on that on a regular basis. ATS does make an LSD specifically for drag racing, but it is not the same as what you have. If you don't have upgraded axles now, this is a great time to get them because clutch types are VERY hard on axle HUBS because of the 100% locking differential. Upgraded axles hubs will last a bit longer than even the OEM because of the higher hp of a turbocharged application. Its not the POWER difference, its the shear shock of additional torque that the original N/A design will never see.

Ive used my fair share of KAAZ and ATS on Turbocharged FWD and Honda vehicles, so I've found these areas to be the most important.

Check with the road racing and Type R forums to get more feedback about the ATS LSD on other applications.

you shouldve gone quaife, but since you already shelled the money out for the ATS, either sell it and get some money back and/or buy an OBX lsd..

how much did you get the ats for? or did it come with the tranny? i think they sell roughly for $1000~ so you might get between like $600-$900 for it depending. but you can get an obx for $400~
