ARP Headstuds for D16Z
I have a D16 sitting around I plan on boosting very soon, but before I do...should I replace the headstuds with ARP ones? I will be pushing a t3/60 at 7psi. Would it benefit me any or would it just be peace of mind to get them?
*I will be replacing all seals/headgasket/timing belt etc before boosting while the motor is out.
Thanks
Rich

I am not a forced induction guy by any means but I believe replacing the stock units with the aftermarket arp studs would be very beneficial.

I wouldn't if you are just going to do 7psi. But then again, if you plan on upping boost in the future (more than likely), they are good insurance against leaky headgasket issues.

Re: (sadangryboi)
I would definately put the ARPs in...
I had head lifting issues with my d16z6 at 7-8 psi within 4 months of boosting... I installed some ARPs and a new head gasket, haven't had any problems since...
You might as well put them in there, you will probably need them sooner or later anyways.

D series heads are notorious for lifting. I'd get a set for any amount of boost. We have them on sale here:

Actually, you know what, I'd go ahead and get them no matter what. It's one of those things that pays for itself in the long run.
It's like my Hondata gasket. I don't care what it does performance wise, but just the fact that I can re-use it is soooooo nice.
If you ever have to pull your head (very likely) to diagnose a problem, it's really convenient not having to go to the dealer and buy new head bolts.
