Default Apex'i AFC question...

Ok, I have a friend who is finishing up his turbo on his car...but for fuel management he wants to run the hack...
I advised him to save for a hondata, but what can ya do...anyway he asked me how much boost you can run with it...didnt exactly know what to tell him

So, I guess my question is for those of you who are running the hack, how much boost are you efficiently/successfully running?

TIA
Kevin

if you go above i believe 12 or 13, you'll throw a CEL, because you can only trick your ECU so much. If you go w/450, set back around -40%. I suppose you could run a missing link if you wanted more boost than that. Search the boards. There's PLENTY on the hack.

I just talked to Tony at Jotech this morning (Tony1), You can sucsessfully run a Afc hack with low boost after (i believe 8-9 you start having problems. You must run 440cc also. But it's mainly for low boost.

the missing link wouldn't work with the afc hack because it would be bleeding boost away from the MAP sensor which is basically what the hack and afc are based on.

What makes the hack better then buying a new map sensor?

so, next thing he wants to know...

if he installs a vafc now on a non-vtec, can the vtec control just not be used? he wants to do a ls/vtec eventually and i guess it would be smart cuz it would save him money in the long run...so is that an option?
