a lot of people tell me that its too big but i went with it b/c i dont have to keep switching turbos when i decide to up the power... i know of one guy on teamrice.org who had a similar setup except he had a z6 rather than a y8 and i think he ran a 12.7@12psi if im not mistaken

http://www.turbod16.com... there is a current post about just this topic...and its not the first. People run them, like them and lag varies on trim and piping and etc....
I run a 60/63 and love it... no complaints on a stockish D16z6.

im getting the t3/t4 on my stock d15b prety much for the same reason so i dont have to upgrade turbos anytime i wanna go faster or if i rebuild the motor for some serious boost i can keep my setup and just change the wastegate

i love this turbo (definite improvement over the 15g )
i will be getting tuned monday so i will see what power it puts out at ~12psi...

not sure what the difference is between a 't3/t4' and a t3/t04e, but its basically a hybrid turbo. thats why you hear 'straight t3'...
i'm getting my car DYNO'D at fyne tune, my friend is the one tuning it. I'm going monday.

The different wheels are the difference. The t3 in the t3/t04e refers to the turbine side and the t04 refers to the compressor side, the "e" refers to the family of wheels that the particular turbo has and the trim refers to the size of the wheel (in general, the formula is something like [(inducer^2)/(exducer^2)]*100. Larger wheel = higher boost threshold (more lag) but also more efficient (typically) at higher flows. This is all from my menial understanding of course. I'm sure someone will correct any misconceptions I have.
BTW- there are also many people out there who run t3/t04b turbos, but it seems as though the "e" family of wheels are more efficient. Hope this helps out a bit. GL.
For my d-series project I will probably use a t3/t04e 50 trim with a .58 a/r hotside. Boost controlled of course, if I wasn't going to go boost contolled I would go with the .63 a/r. Or I will use a holset hx30. Just to see how it does.
