Anybody know a reason not to spray on an 02 M3?
I like to think that I can run nitrous on anything with an or on it, but I've been asked to help with an install on an M3 and I've honestly never touched a BMW before. Does anyone know of any reason why nitrous wouldn't not work on this engine? I've already checked the compression ratio and it should be fine with premium fuel.

I guess go ahead and spray it...Just seems a little stupid to me if the person has the money and can afford a 02 M3 seems like the could afford a better power adder than nitrious. Personally I wouldnt spend that much money on a car then melt the pistons

I'd be very weary about spraying on an 02 ///M3. They have been having quite a few problems with those motors as of late. A lot of people, as in, far more than usual...who have been driving them the way that they were supposedly meant to be driven, have been blowing their motors left and right.

Re: Anybody know a reason not to spray on an 02 M3? (MatT3T4)
no kidding
look at this:
Topic: Another M3 engine gone ('02 SMGII)
"My '02 M3C had about 2000 miles on it when I took it to Texas World Speedway for a dealer driving clinic. On my 3rd (warm-up) lap I heard a loud tapping so I pitted ASAP. As soon as the dealer guy heard the sound we called the flatbed.
The car sits at the dealer today with an engine on order. They are waiting for some tools to be delivered to do a complete diagnosis (my service advisor stated "yours is the first engine that hasn't come apart, so BMW wants to study it carefully.")"

they even have engine failure posting guidelines on that forum!

I'll talk to the guy tonight. I have a strong feeling that the guy didn't know this when he bought the car last saturday.

Spraying on a new M3 motor is pretty foolish.
In the worst case scenario, you blow it up. BMW isn't dumb. You are gonna have to pay out of your pocket for a new motor. I can't imagine a new M3 longblock going for less than $12k.

I have a friend here in town that is a tech at the BMW dealership here. He says they have had at least 5 cars come in with broken camshafts. BMW tried to design a cam that could rev out to 8000 rpm and apparently failed.

I'd stick with a Dinan/Mosselman supercharger kit.. atleast they come with a reprogrammed chip and FPR etc.. more of a "complete" setup.. and something that would be much more reliable on a day-to-day basis than NOS

So the answer is an overwhelming NO...lol. I would advise your buddy NOT to go ahead with the install. Hell, I'd advise him to return the damn car if he enjoys driving them like they are supposed to be driven. GOD I would be PISSED if I were in his shoes.

The motor is so on edge that spraying will probably blow it up. Without spending some serious money, your friend will have to deal with getting owned by Hondas. Sorry

I wouldn't spray it because the main and/or rod bearings are probably failing already... why help it along
