AEM has a few full replacement CAS's out in the field for the 4g63 platform. I know Scot Gray is testing one.

Brad Brooks has developed something very similar to the 4g63 setups with stock green top CAS's.

Check it out here:

that was the main problem, depending at which point the engine was turned off, depending if the capacitor was charging or not it was discharging the caps back into the drivers and killing them, so we have upgraded the hardware and changed the strategy used for charging and discharging of the capacitors. thats why you wont hear much of them dying in the middle of a pull or a run, its usually when u key off/on.

redesign has been completed, testing in the field has been done (SpeedDreamz.com has one, maybe he can give some input), currently awaiting vendors for parts for assembly

if AEM would fix the reliability issues with their C2Di/Twin Fire, I'd go back to C.O.P. system and incorporate this item. I fried 5 different C2Di/Twin Fire boxes before. It would overheat pretty bad. I was even sent a prototype version by the designer... it was hard to daily drive the car.... several times, I had to let the box cool off for several hours....

I've had better luck with MSD Billet Distributor...

So after these new ones are in full production is AEM going to be willing to replace this POS unit I have for one that works or should I keep using it as a paper weight?

They will sell like hot cakes with the introduction of EPM for COP honda applications! The price for a 2 or 4 channel CDI is what holds most people back from going COP, that and the price of Denso spark plugs.

I'm really surprised Denso or NGK has not started producing the plugs we need in the right heat ranges. I mean they would not have a hard time selling them so I don't know what the problem is.

What about using AEM's new CDI Pencil coil and than you wouldn't have to get the threaded tip spark plugs

They look very similar to the CBR coils. So these coils do not require removable tip spark plugs?

Nope they do not require the removable tip spark plugs. They plug on directly to the normal spark plug tip.

I'm curious to see how they modified the denso coils (that's what they look like they are) to accept normal plugs....

no, you will need to run the T1 trigger to use your pro 10 which is a single channel box.

I'm almost sure he is on the OEM ECU though.... so no, it wont work if that's the case.

Its a completely brand new coil. It is not a modifed denso coil although they may look similar they are manufactured by aem. The short coil is for bseries type and the long is for kseries which need the longer reach.

So I assume the short ones would work on Hseries?<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Rtype16 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> The short coil is for bseries type and the long is for kseries which need the longer reach. </TD></TR></TABLE>

The AEM twinspark/CDI boxes were affordable from AEM, but the reliability is hit or miss on them. I have tuned a few cars running them with no issues, and some that didnt last more than a few "key on key off" cycles while tuning. This product would really compliment the twinspark if they get everything straightened out. Can anyone from AEM on here comment about the CDI boxes availability or product redesign?</TD></TR></TABLE>

What about this part with say OEM K or F series Coil packs?
sorry if it was mentioned in this thread...didnt read it all
