Default Any one running the GM Boost solenoid?

Is any one running the Gm boost solenoid with the EMS? If so how well does it work. I checked the AEM forums and it tells you part #'s and how to hook it up, but no one accutally said how they like it. I think this would be a great cheap alternative to getting a new one, plus I would be able to get rid of my EVC EZ.

It works good but it makes a clicking noise all the time when its active. Turn the key to ON and it clicks. I found adjusting the frequency fixed the clicking but made it not function right.

Its clicking all the time because its not setup properly in the ems. adjust your base duty table, and your target/target error tables so the solenoid will be at minimum duty when you aren't in boost.

Once properly configured, it works great. You can run it RPM/TPS dependant, Hi/Lo boost switch, or VSS dependant. I don't know how much the Innovative or AVC-R gear dependant boost controllers sell for, but I bet they're A LOT more than the $35 I paid for my GM solenoid.

Once you have it properly dialed in it works great.. Its just a PITA to get dialed in correctly.. If you tune it on a dyno then you can tune the map for it quicker..

Thanks for the replies. Thats what I wanted to hear We have a Chevy dealer as one of our dealers here at work. I can order it for like $27. Looks like I'm getting the solenoid and selling the EVC EZ. Thanks for all the help. Sorry for some of the genaric questions but I'm not to familuar with the EMS yet and just trying to get the most out of it.

And it will be tuned on a dyno. So this should be fairly straight forward for them

Kinda.. You just need to set it for one psi range at a time and you want to get it to the point where it stays at that psi level all the way to redline.. Then go on to the next one..

After that is all tuned up then you can turn on boost feedback and do all the fancy boost trim methods.. Good luck..

I think it's a PITA to configure... but give it a try maybe you can get it to work. I switched to a manual control.
