amount of oil to use with turbo on...
ok, this might sound dumb. but stock d16z6, y8, y7... whatever. take 3.5qts when oil change time comes. how much oil does the turbo feed line, turbo itself and all hold? im thinking that with only 3.5 qts. b/c some of that oil is being distributed elsewhere, the normal oil pressure the rest of the engine should have is lower. anybody ever think about that?
wonder if it would be good to run an extra 1/4 of a qt. or maybe even 1/2 qt. depends on turbo size and feed line length i guess? maybe strupid thought. just wanted to get others opinions on this

Just keep adding until it is at the appropriate level on the dip stick, start the car, shut it off and check the stick again, add some more etc.

yea, a friend of mine brought up a good point i think. he said to check how much a 1g 2.0L N/A eclipse has. then check the same engine for FI. and see what the difference is. the difference is a good idea of how much more to add since the DSM turbo and greddy turbo... and feed lines are all about same... would be a very good estimate for the difference in oil to use...
i just noticed it takes a little longer for the ticking to go away on a very cold start... just seems like there is less pressure or something...

the difference is negligible, like slash said you check the oil level, dont add past the max marker on the dipstick. I take a guess and say the whole turbo oiling system uses a dixie cup full of oil max, the turbo doesnt fill with oil its shaft just floats on oil.
