am I SAFE AT 8lbs OF BOOST !!!!!!
I HAVE SOHC VTEC 1.6 IN MY CRX AND AND THE GREDDY BOLT ON TURBO KIT . I RAISED THE BOOST 3 MORE POUNDS AND GOT A BIG DIFFERANCE . I HAVE A FULLY STOCK MOTOR WITH A B&M FPR GREDDY FMU RACTIVE WIRES TURBO XS BOV AND STARION INTERCOOLER... DO I NEED RETARD THE TIMING A LITTLE ...HOW MUCH ... RIGHT NOW IM 14.3 1\4 MILE SLIPPING CLUTCH AND THE VTEC WASNT WORKING AT THE WITH 5.5 POUNDS OF BOOST.. BUT AM I SAFE WITH 8lbs boost ...can i go to 10 WITH OUT INTERNALS....MUCH ADVICE IS NEEDED...
I would get it tuned with a wideband O2 before you go any further. Yeah, I'm sure some people might have had success with higher PSI, but get it tuned and see what your A/F is at. If it's excessively rich, try another PSI or two.
He means when you go get your car dynoed and tune you have a option of having a wideband o2 senor that reads very accurately of your air/fuel ratio, it reads a lot more accurateley of your air/fuel then your gauge does.
