from all motor to forced induction?
I have an 92 civic hatchback with an h22a cast iron sleeves cp pistons 11.5.1 comp @ standard spec h beam rods ARP head bolt main bolts Brian Crower 3 cams Brian Crower valve springs retainers port and polished head exhaust ports only stock intake stock injectors eBay 4-2-1 header and full exhaust eBay cam gears . my question is can I get lower compression pistons and put a turbo on this build or will it be more complicated ?? Thank you
11.5 isn't too high to boost, it comes down to a good tuner. 2v heads and 4 v head flow differently and require different compression ratios. Do some reading and research this has been covered many times. For an example a friend of mine has been boosting his s2k stock engine, 14psi with a gt30r for 5 years now. It make just under 500whp and all he uses is premium pump fuel. I believe sk2's are in the 11.3 ball park compression ratio.
use the proper turbo manifold and turbo and you wont have a problem on low boost (cams may be to big if they are really a stage 3 cam)
Yep, bigger injectors, a proper turbo kit, and a good tuner should get your motor running safely wherever you want it without having to change anything in the block. 11.5:1 is great for boost.
