Default AFC Hack install prior to boosting...

I am looking to setup my dsm 440's and vafc prior to my turbo install. i am just trying to get pieces of the project done at a time. Check my logic here...if i install the injectors and afc, and lean the injectors out (-50%) will that be lean enough? what do the stock injectors flow? if i run the 440's at -50% does that make flow as much as 220 injectors? Rough idle or any problems with this idea?

Also, i have heard something about a harness which makes the afc plug and play, no soldering or splicing or any of that other stuff (on the ecu end at least). Any more information on it, and where can i find one?

TIA
Alex- who is looking forward to the warmer weather so he can boost

You'd probably be ok as long as you dont get on it too hard

-50% may or may not be too much. Depends on altitude, etc. etc.
You'll be fine though, just don't do it for too long. I ran mine for about a month before installing my turbo and did not have any problems.

There is no reason to not do it for long. That is like saying 'make sure you stay in boost most of the time on the hack'. It works fine for NA just as it works fine on a turbo out of boost. Just think about how it works.

-50 is much too lean NA on my car BTW. more like 35-40

Just set it at the normal settings (thjink its between 30-40 like mentioned). Who cares if the car is boosted or not, the AFC will only be triming down the larger injectors anyways.

If you have it properly tuned this is true, you could run indefinately with the hack on an N/A car. I make the assumption that it will be running on the rich side, therefore, in order to avoid washing the rings, burning your cat or any of the other side effects of running rich from occurring I suggest not to do it for too long.

Due to the effects of high altitude, my car kicks into gimp mode if idle for a couple minutes with settings like 35. I can go as far as 48 or so and not have any problems.

harness thing --I have done it before with a Field harness. It looks like a conversion harness but it's just an extention you can solder on and then plug in. huge waste of money and time IMO. AFC is super easy to hook up and there are tons of post about it on here if you get stuck, unless you don't want to cut any stock wires or something crazy like that.

PS don't wait to warm weather to boost!!!! my car loves the cold, more O2 means more power (add fuel too if you want it to last )
