Default AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator

I have an AEM fuel rail and a Walbro 255 intank pump, if I get an AEM fuel pressure regulator and 370 injectors will this be ok instead of having the vortech 12:1 fmu. BTW I have a Drag III kit already installed with the inline pump. I want to remove the inline and vortech unit for bigger injectors and an intank pump.

Let me know if I am missing anything, or if you would change what I have listed!!

you will still need a 6:1 or 8:1 FMU

Why is a fmu still required, the pressure regulator won't increase fuel suffiecently enough? I need a specific answer if at all possible or who to ask if you can't give me a specific answer.

Thanks

The AEM only has a 1:1 rise rate under boost. The 370cc injectors will allow a low (60-80psi) max FP for boosting, but you'll have a problem getting a good max FP at the same time as getting good FP's for normal driving. Without another FPR/FMU, you'll either have correct static FP and too low max FP (hello blown engine) or a too high static pressure and proper max FP (hello "Too Rich" codes).

If you have a VAFC or other fuel computer, you may be able to not use another FPR, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I have an S-AFC installed on the car already...so what is the best solution? What is the best set-up? Am I wasting my time upgrading injectors or should I just keep the car the way the kit came with the inline and vortech fmu (12:1). What are other people running on their cars?

run the 370cc injectors w/ either 6:1 or 8:1 FMU, use the fpr to lower base fuel pressure if it is neccessary(probably wont be) and use the AFC to tune your fuel curve.

if your staying under 8.5psi, the DRAG fuel set up is just fine.

I plan on staying under 10psi but, I don't like having an inline and 12:1 fmu. If I get rid of the inline and get say a 6:1 disc and new injectors (370's) how am I to besure that a 6:1 is needed and not a 8:1 fmu. Is there anything besides an fmu that will raise fuel pressure under boost?
