1. how much should I look to pay for a EMS for OBD2 car with the AEM wideband and controller?
2. do you get the tuning software with the system?
3. how hard is it to get the hang of the system. (friend will help me but he only has experience with hondata and power FC)

1. Not sure if you want new or use. I think new the system is around 1700.
2. Yes you get the tuning software, and the cable with the system.
3. Never worked with hondata but from speaking with people that have AEM is a lot harder to use. When they say plug and play they mean you can plug it in without cutting any wires.
Other things to know. Be prepared to have little dumb problems with it. I would not recommend it if you are going to be using this car as a daily driver and it is your only car. You may be renting a car a lot. This is just speaking from experience.
Check out the AEM EMS boards. You can prob find most of your answers over there if you search.

the system is anywhere from $1000 - $1300 depending on where you get it from.
the wideband is around $400
yes, you get the software as stated above
and the new 1.03 is easy to navigate, you just need to know WHAT and HOW to tune. Some systems are easier to tune b/c they don't have as much depth as the AEM EMS.

not very intuitive but if you read/study its manuals u might be able to trouble shoot soem stuff, beside aem has a good and helpfull forum..
software wise, allways available from aem site/forums..

I currently have both Hondata, and the AEM EMS. The EMS has so much more capability then the hondata it's not even funny... You have to know what you’re doing though. Currently I don't believe there are that many people tuning cars with the AEM EMS so maybe you should find out if it's even available in your area, because I can guarantee your going to need some help getting it dialed in. Just my $.02. Good luck
1) Expect to pay around 1100-1300 for a decent price. AEM is pretty strict on pricing and they don't like it when dealers go below 1300. The AEM wideband can be had around 350 if you can look hard enough.
2) Yes you get a CD-ROM with the system, however I recommend you install version 1.03 off the aempower site.
3) The tuning parameters are almost endless. Extreme flexibility. This thing can control a small 3rd world country.
