Re: Aem EMS (WalkerGSR1)
AEM EMS is great..99.9% of the time you hear of a problem its due to user error..my car has been setup on aem for over a year and I have not had 1 single issue with it..Iam even using the old "known to pop" c2di and it works without skipping a beat..
also..comparing ems to crome is like comparing apples to ornages..crome is a basic burn a chip style management while ems is a full blow stand alone..

It's tuner related or either something else was hooked up improperly.
The AEM EMS is a great unit

aem has a forum for their ems. just go to aempower.com and go to the forum. in the honda/acura section will be some premade basemaps i think. been a while since i've been lurking around there.

Re: Aem EMS (WalkerGSR1)
If u r going to tune urself then get EMS, having it tuned by someone else, I would go with Neptune.
Neptune is cheaper and as good as EMS if not better, just doesnt have some output features for COP setup's.

Re: Aem EMS (Turbocivic94)
If its a street car, don't bother. Its far cheaper/easier to go with something like Crome, Hondata or the S300.
If its an all out race car, don't bother either. There are much better options, though they are a little more $$$.
I had an EMS, had some issues and was far from impressed with the software and customer support. Needless to say, I didn't like it at all. I now run a Hondata S300 and couldn't be happier. I'll also probably pick up a Neptune RTP system whenever its released.

I might sell mine and go hondata too.

Bling bling. Neptune RTP is not so far off. I like the added $600 in my pocket from switching to the Hondata as well.

Re: Aem EMS (daveG)
I am running the S300 which I bought after I sold my EMS and cant be happier with it either, I was going to hold out for the RTP, but I am going to wait until about 6months after its released to make sure it isnt all screwed up before I sell my S300 and buy it

Hopefully I'll have another project car soon so that I'll need to have the RTP and the S300.

Re: Aem EMS (daveG)
you see AEM EMS ecu's go for around 700-800 on here sometimes. I had hondata and by the time you get another virgin p28 ship it out to get chipped and then buy the s200 or s300 it's about 500 right there. Believe me the extra few hundred is well worth it and I have never had issues with the AEM. The hondata will corrupt the chip once in a while and it sucks ***. It's happened to me twice. AEM EMS all the way. gives you an excuse to get a laptop too, just to DL ****

An S300 with a Chipped ECU is not $500, I bought just the S300 alone for $535+$130 for the S300 ready P06

There's a reason it took so long to come out- it's SOLID and has been so for some time. Verifying how bug free it is takes time.

Re: (thermal)
Most problems are tuner related. I currently run neptune becuase I have no need for end user tuning, but when I had AEM it was great.
Also, their customer service and support is unbelievable! I bought a used EMS off here that had an unknown problem for about $200 bucks. Sent it to AEM and flashed it or whatever and sent it back no charge. I still had problems, so i sent it back again. This time they replaced the board and overnighted it back no charge. I turned around and solt it for $1000 6 months later.
