Default AEM Boost Solenoid Issue

I get everything all wired up and the solenoid is working fine as far as I know, I have it set on a switch for High/Low in my ECU. I come out later to take the car out for a drive and when I key on my Boost Solenoid start clicking very loud and fast, I would say 5-10 clicks a second, and the clickling will vary as I change duty, if I set the duty to 0-1 it stops and at 100 it stops also, what could cause the solenoid to do this? It is installed properly 12v switched and the other wire to my ECU, its set as a normally closed type and was working fine just an hour earlier. I was not aware a PWM signal could pulse that fast to actually make the solenoid do what its doing.

The clicking is the solenoid rapidly opening and closing. At 0% duty cycle, it is fully closed and at 100% duty cycle it is fully open. Changing the frequency will change the speed at which the solenoid opens.

I set mine up so that it doesn't control boost until 2nd gear, so it doesn't click at idle or lower speeds.

I am aware of what the sound is, I know for a fact it is not supposed to do this, it sounds like a weed wacker and did not do this just an hour earlier.

That's normal, the solenoid usually operates between 20-30hz, which is 20-30 "clicks" per second.

Thanks Tony, it just sounds like I have one of those 12v Mini Air Pumps running under the hood with the key on, its VERY loud, wonder why it didnt do it when I first applied 12v to the Solenoid.........

I had the same problem with mine not working first try either. When it started making that sound after tinking with a few things, I was like WTF? but it was the solenoid just doing what it was supposed to do all along.

I wonder if there is a way to quiet it down a bit. It is awfully obnoxious for such a small thing.

Obnoxious is a great word to describe it, sounded like it was going to self destruct in no time lol..... Guess I am just going to activate it like you, just not even going to engage it until 2nd gear. As loud as my car is I highly doubt I will hear it when its running. I am suprised I did not see another thread like this one, I just had a big issue with my ECU/Electrical system and after sorting it all out this happened the same day and I just panicked like not again. I just got my ECU back because the A11 pin on my ECU was constantly grounded and I figured this was related but new issue.

What management?
Is there any EBC activation wrt boost or vacuum?
ectune you can select ebc activation with a user defined boost level
So ebc activation @ 1psi so there will be no chatter till the map starts to see boost.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Neptune doesn't have that feature...yet.
