Default Adding Nitrous to the mix with a T25???

Alright I have been entertaining the thoughts of putting a wet shot on my SR20DET. The thing is I have heard mixed comments on its just not good for the turbo and its gonna kick the bucket because its a small turbo and it makes an *** load of backpressure to yeah man I have a small shot on my car with a T25 and it runs great.

What is everyones opinion on this? I was thinking it couldnt hurt it that bad if I run like a 50 shot at the track. I have used nitrous before so Im not that new to it. Just never ran it on a forced induction engine.

I have 370cc injectors, SAFC, and Im running about 10psi at the track on my car now. That is where it would mainly get used since I dont drive my car daily.

The ECU I got is fine. Im using the Japanese ECU and it runs great. I was thinking of just upgrading the T25 with some new internals and running the boost on up. Got to get some bigger injectors first and probably a new MAF sensor also. It seems that I can never change this without changing everything else

Oh well that is just how it goes

I know that Im bringing this back up but the thought is in my mind again so what is some more opinions?

Adding a 50 wet shot is the idea on my SR20DET that is equipped with a T25. If anything I would use it basically in 3rd to 4th gear at the track more than anything cause my turbo is somewhat running out of breath at that time and I wouldnt mind having a little extra to get me down the track a little faster.

i am spraying a 75shot on my engine right now but plan on boosting next summer, but im deffinitley sprayin too! even if i have to lower my boost a little.
if i were you id just lower the boost to 7-8psi then spray 50shot 2nd 3rd and 4th.

If anything I can take my manual boost controller off of the car and run it back at the stock boost setting with the nitrous?

WHY, you know how much nitrous costs to refill? I know a chap doing 11.1 with a sr20det big turbo, after market ECU and race gas Hoosier DOT legal slicks. I am only bothering to help because of your first sig,

screw nitrous. Just get a bigger turbo. That little t25 doesn't sound like its getting the job done for you.

i had an S14 T28 factory turbo on my redtop SR.. i was running 14 pounds and was at a good 280 to the wheels...thats just with a factory turbo.. i say you get a Garrett GT25R...it'll fit on the stock SR manifold, and will get you close to 400 with little mods...injectors and maf...

do risk blowing up your SR with nitrous

you know what I think that Im just gonna kick the nitrous thing to the curb. I know that I can get my T25 rebuilt with different internals and it will push enough out to make about 300whp or so. Its a few places that will do this. Also if I wanted to run a T28 I would have to change my manifold, intercooler piping, etc and I dont want to do that. So Im thinking the T25 rebuild is what is gonna have to be done haha.

you don't have to change the manifold in order to put on a T28... the only thing you have to do, is cut some of the outlet ic pipe... Trust me i did it on my SR..
And plus T28's are ball bearing....

I know that my manifold will not allow me to bolt on a T28. I would have to put a GTI-R turbo mani on my car for to swap on a T28

Save the money that u would be dropping on nitrous and its refills and get a disco potato(GT28RS?), it supposedly one of the best street turbos out there and has an awesome powerband...

Actually like I said Im probably gonna get my rebuilt with different internals so I dont have to change the intercooler piping. Also if I were to try to swap on a T28 I would have to get the manifold off of a SR20DET GTI-R engine?
