Action Clutch...HELLPPPP!!!
Installed the Action 2MD on my ITR and the gears would not engage!! Was told that the Action sits lower than the oem clutch, so when the pedal is depressed it would not reach the cover. ARRRGH!! After 10hrs of troubleshooting the install I'm left with the oem dying clutch back on!
((
What could it be? Are all the B series Actions the same clutch?? I was told this. The other 2md I bought fitted my friends Del Sol no problem. Is this suppose to also fit in the ITR??
HEEEEELLLPPP PLS !!..

The clutch should line up just like oem. Did you use a clutch alignment tool? With the motor off, will it go in all the gears? That way you know it's a clutch problem or shift linkage problem. Only different clutch i can think of is the GSR since it uses a slightly larger spline.
Used the alignment tool that came with the clutch. When the engine is off the gears engages fine but refuses to go into any gear when shes fired up. The friction plate of the Action is slightly larger than the oem one. I'm confused....
Check your clutch slave cylinder and clutch fork. You could have knocked the clutch fork off the guides when putting the tranny back on. If you did, the clutch will not disengage when you push the clutch pedal in.
I didn't fit it myself as my mechanic done it for me. The oem clutch is now back on and works first time. The first time the Action was in and it didn't work they took it off to troubleshoot and found that when the pedal was fully depressed, the bearing could not quite reach the pressure plate as the Action sits lower than the oem one so they welded an extra piece to extend the shaft so that it could reach. This worked at first but once everything went back on its back to square one again
My question is does this one clutch fits the entire B series? or are there different for B16 and B18?

Was the disk installed the correct way?? It should fit any B series with no problems...at least mine did. I'd probably rule out the release linkage seeming that it is improbable that the tech would install incorrectly twice but get it correct on the oem clutch. Hmmm

Precisely what I thought. The friction plate could not possibly be installed in a wrong way as it could only go in one way.

Its the pressure plate. The height on the straps might not be correct or the way they steped up the fingers on it. I think you should send it back and get a new one. Id call is a defect...
Ive seen this happen on a clutchnet clutch as well.

I sent you an e-mail but I will post here too.
Did you get your flywheel resurfaced?
Also, have you checked the hydraulic system? The piston has to push out over twice the pressure for the 2MD vs. stock. If the hydraulic system is not working properly the clutch will not disengage and you will not be able to switch gears. That would explain why you can change gears with the car off and with the stock clutch. Check that out first.

All Action clutches are checked for proper release before leaving the door.
If you can please take a picture of the disc. During shipment the disc can get nicked and this will prevent proper release.
If the disc looks fine please send the clutch back to Action and I will go over there and examine it personally to find the problem.
Sorry to hear that you have this problem. We will have your problem solved. No doubt.
